We had a lovely, memorable morning with the children and staff from Killyman Primary School!
Our theme for the day was ‘giving’, and the generosity shown by the children and their families was incredible. They kindly donated a wonderful variety of items for our Christmas shoebox appeal in aid of Dungannon Vineyard—including fun toys, stationery, clothing, sweet treats, and personal care essentials.
The children worked in small groups, showing fantastic teamwork and thoughtful discussion as they carefully filled each shoebox for a boy or girl. It was heartwarming to see their enthusiasm and sense of community shine through.
Once the boxes were complete, we celebrated with festive fun—hot chocolate treats, birthday cake, and cheerful Christmas music! We were delighted to welcome Ciaran from ASPIRE, who commented on the lovely atmosphere and how well the children collaborated. Lynda from Vineyard also took some time to call at school and share some information on the charity’s work and was thrilled to leave with a car packed full of shoeboxes!
This was such a meaningful opportunity for the children to experience the joy of giving and to help those less fortunate in our local community. What a wonderful way to start the festive season!
