? P1/2 and P5 Future Electricians in the Making! ??
Today we were delighted to welcome our friends at South West College to our school! We had the privilege of hosting Michael - an electrical lecturer and his technician. The children had a fantastic hands-on session exploring the real tools electricians use. ??
P1/2 explored the safety gear electricians need to be safe and seen as part of their People who Help Us topic. They also got to handle some tools and ask the electricians questions about their jobs.
P5 tried their hand at using the laser measure, stripping wire, making circuits, measuring resistance, and even connecting wires to create a complete working circuit. They even got a sneak peek at what the wires behind the sockets in our homes and classrooms actually look like. Their excitement and curiosity lit up the room! ??
A huge thank you to South West College for giving up their time to inspire our pupils and showing them real life examples of an exciting apprenticeship— they loved every minute! We could have some future electricians in the making! Watch this space! ?? South West College
